The third volume of The Advanced Piano Method for Left-Handers – New Da Vinci Notation continues the systematic piano training at intermediate level. Building upon the foundations established in Volumes I and II, this volume further develops melodic, technical, and rhythmic skills while placing strong emphasis on musical expression and enjoyment.
The repertoire offers a wide stylistic range, including sonatinas, rondos, rhythmically driven pieces such as boogies, and well-known performance works, among them “Für Elise” by Ludwig van Beethoven. The aim of this volume is to combine technical development with expressive playing and to provide motivating and varied teaching material.
Like all volumes in this series, Volume III is fully based on the Da Vinci notation. The musical score is written upside down (vertically mirrored), additionally mirrored horizontally, and consistently read from right to left. This notation system corresponds to a mirrored left-handed keyboard layout, where the lower notes are positioned on the right and the higher notes on the left. Reading direction, keyboard layout, and playing movement form a coherent and unified concept.
Within this approach, the left hand primarily carries the melody, while the right hand mainly provides accompaniment. This integrated system of mirrored keyboard and Da Vinci notation enables left-handed pianists to develop their technique and musical expression in a natural and structured way.
Volume III is intended for intermediate students who have mastered the previous volumes and wish to continue their piano studies with greater technical confidence and artistic depth.
